last living grandparent

if they didn't have a good relationship with a parent most wouldn't even bother keeping in touch. on the other hand if it's their kids last living grandparent..... i think (i hope) most people would grin and bear their teeth to have SOME sort of relationship with their kids last living grandparent. my dad didn't. between a trip to china (late 2010-2011) and last December my dad and his dad had a falling out. it's unknown what happened and why but my dad didn't want his dad in his live at that point. unfortunately, my paternal grandfather passed away unexpectedly last December. now they wont be able to make up for lost time. hope that never happens to me and my family
