Disappearance of Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon
Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon are two Dutch students who disappeared on April 1, 2014, while hiking in Panama. The circumstances and aftermath of their disappearance have resulted in much speculation about the cause of death.
Disappearance & Discovery: Kremers and Froom arrived in Panama for a six-week vacation in Panama on March 15, 2014 on a flight from Amsterdam. They disappeared on April 1, 2014 near the town of Boquete, Chiriquí. After being notified by the school on April 2, a 10 day search began on April 6, but found no traces of the disappeared women. 10 weeks later an Ngobe woman brought in Lisanne Froon’s backpack. Among the contents were a phone with attempted calls to 911 and a camera with dozens of flash photos in deep jungle and near complete darkness. Most of these were taken on April 8 between 01:00AM and 04:00AM at rate of a photo every 2 minutes. Some of the 911 calls came just hours after posing for photos on April 1.
