Disappearance of Amy Wroe Bechtel
The disappearance of Amy Wroe Bechtel occurred on July 24, 1997. Bechtel disappeared after leaving her home in Lander, Wyoming, to run errands and go for a run. Her vehicle was discovered near Loop Road in Shoshone National Forest. Her husband of one year, Steve, was considered as a suspect in the disappearance. A witness claimed to have seen his truck driving near the location of the disappearance with an unknown blonde female passenger; however, evidence was later found to contradict this claim. A second suspect was Dale Wayne Eaton, who was convicted of murdering another woman and was a suspect in several other cases. Bechtel's disappearance was featured on an Investigation Discovery show in January 2013.
