open up
when i first lost my glucometer at school they said i should keep it in my purse. people are very happy to help and someone found it and turned it in. at first my mom said i didn't have to bring it to school. than i had to since the nurse requested i did. i was afraid people would look at me like i was sick or different. than people said they had to know in order to help me. it forced me to open up. my school guidance counselor told me to talk about it. luckily i came from a very progressive and educated high school so people were able to help and if i needed a shoulder to cry on people were there.
